Middlesbrough 10k Training

2019 saw The Jane Tomlinson RunForAll Charity added to the previous Middlesbrough Borough Council and Everyone Active Partnership for providing the Middlesbrough 10k. I was asked to provide some fun sessions to invite the participants to meet before the event.

We held 4 free training sessions in collaboration with North East Project Run in the run-up to the event. Just in case you missed them here is a quick rundown of the 4 sessions.

• Week 1 - Relaxed session so people could get to know each other and over to Stewart Park for a part Fartlek session and lap around the park.

• Week 2 - Exclusive use of the 1k cycle track at MSV. Worked in groups, one doing drills the other focusing on pace and posture for a steady run then swapped.

• Week 3 - Over to Stewart Park for out and backs (with a dice!) ending with relays.

• Week 4 - Gentle, social run around the 10k route starting and ending at MSV although running the opposite way around.

All sessions starting with a warm-up and finishing with cool-down stretches. Great feedback received...look forward to seeing you all next year

Thank you to Gary Eddon and North East Project Run for your support and session delivery.
